With the fast-paced life that everyone lives nowadays, it’s hard to get by with a stationary crib for a newborn baby. Often, you need to take your baby with you so you can tend to them and give them the attention they need whenever or wherever.

Having a portable bassinet makes this easy for parents who are always on the move. It doesn’t matter if you are just moving around the house all the time or you’re actually going around town.

Having a bassinet means that your baby doesn’t have to constantly be in your arms. You have a comfortable place for them to sleep and rest in. You also get the benefits of the many specialized bassinets provide.

If you’ve already started looking for a bassinet, you’re going to be overwhelmed with the many different types out there. You are also going to see that there’s an assortment of shapes and sizes for said bassinets.

Deciding whether a feature that you saw listed is a must-have while sacrificing for the con is something that can’t be done so easily. You have to know full well what you need while prioritizing what your newborn baby requires for a safe and sound sleep every time.

Below, you will read our review on the KidCo DreamPod Portable Bassinet Review. Learn why we picked this bassinet as one of the most feature-packed and portable bassinets on the market right now.

The KidCo TR1001 DreamPod Travel Bassinet has a lot of amazing features that you wouldn’t even think of. You have the water repellent yet easily washable sheet. You can also easily fold it so you can put it in the carry bag for easier transportation.

The amount of mobility it provides makes it easy for a parent to take their little one to different places. Just take it out of the bag and place it down so you have a resting place for your baby. No longer will you have to leave your newborn baby at home with a babysitter since you’ll get to do it yourself.

Features:

  • The baby bassinet has a steel frame. This makes it stable and sturdy.
  • This bassinet’s sheet is machine washable.
  • It weighs 12 pounds and has a dimension of 8.3” x 20” x 24” which is more than enough for a baby that’s a few days.

Pros:

  • Your baby won’t be in danger even if they move around since the bassinet will always be flat on the ground. Being bumped also won’t cause it to tip over so easily thanks to the soft padding below.
  • A stress-free bassinet sheet is included. It’s water repellent which makes it less stressful for you when your baby’s diaper fails to do its job. This means that you can also feed your baby on the bassinet without having to worry about any spillage on the sheet damaging it permanently.
  • This baby bassinet can be folded instantly and easily just like a camping chair. You can take it anywhere you want and set it down so you have a place for your baby to sleep in. Keep an eye on your baby anywhere and tend to them whenever they need it even if you are on the move.
  • This is a great travel bed for your baby. Thanks to the breathable mesh sides, your baby won’t have a rough time trying to get comfortable even if they use it as their primary bed for long trips. There won’t be any issues with safety as well since the mesh won’t irritate the skin of your newborn baby at all.
  • It’s easy to assemble but still stable for the accidental bump. There’s no danger of tipping over so you know that your baby is safe. Cotton twill fabric pads the steel frame to ensure stability for any type of surface - including outdoors.

Cons:

  • After a few weeks of constant usage, the fabric might become too thin for a baby’s comfort. This will greatly annoy the baby which affects their ability to fall asleep in it. You might be forced to buy a new sheet every time the fabric becomes too unbearable for your newborn baby.
  • The pad will become loose even though it’s secured with velcro. This makes it unreliable for long term usage. This also means that after one baby is through with the bassinet, reusing it might be dangerous due to the unpredictability of the materials used.

Verdict:

KidCo made a great attempt with this portable bassinet. They thought of all the correct features to include for a travel bed for newborn babies. The only thing that’s lacking is the material used to cover the steel. It’s highly unreliable in the long run. We still recommend that you buy this fantastic baby bassinet if you are only considering using it for one child.
